Why is a Funeral Service important?
Coping with a loss is never easy, and funeral services are an essential part of the healing process. A funeral service provides those who are grieving with a supportive environment in which they can begin to find closure, celebrate the life of the deceased, and come to terms with the loss. Gathering with family and friends gives everyone the opportunity to connect, share memories, offer words of sympathy, and create a lasting network of comfort and support as they start the journey toward healing and peace.
Whether you choose burial or cremation, my service provides a multitude of ways to explore the grieving process. No matter the setting, style, or direction you choose, the Palacz family is privileged to assist you throughout the entire process.
Celebrating One's Life
Families often ask me for ways of remembering and honoring their loved one. It made me think about a variety of ways to do so. Ways that I went when losing both of my parents at an early age. The list below explores some ways of showcasing love and respect for all of those who we have lost:
1. Take flowers to the grave site, memorial site, or other place where you go to remember your loved one.
2. Look at old photos and home videos. Do this alone and have a good cry or reminisce over photo albums with family and friends. When you use our service and select a visitation, we provide a complimentary digital video filled with photos and personalized music. (50 photo limit)
3. Donate a few of your loved ones old belongings to a shelter or other charity. If you don’t want to give away any of their things, just make a charitable donation in their name.
4. Host a dinner party and invite those who knew your loved ones best.
5. Cook your loved ones favorite dish, use one of their recipies to prepare a meal, or host a pot luck or even a holiday that was significant to them.
6. Read old notes, letters, or e-mails from your loved one.
7. Watch your loved one’s favorite movie, read their favorite book, listen to their favorite album
8. Create a new ritual to celebrate the life of your loved one. Choose a ritual that can be repeated in the years to come.
